A New Record for the Faculty: 131 International Students from 14 Countries and 3 Continents
In the 2025/2026 academic year, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk is hosting a record 131 international students undertaking one- or two-semester study stays. This marks the highest number in the Faculty’s history and a significant milestone in its international development.
This year, our international students come from 14 countries across three continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. Their presence reflects the Faculty’s growing international recognition and is the result of sustained efforts to broaden and enhance our academic offer, deepen cooperation with partner universities, and strengthen the Faculty’s visibility in the English-language academic and media landscape.
We are greatly encouraged by such strong interest in studying at our Faculty. We see it as clear confirmation that these long-term efforts are yielding tangible results and that the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk is becoming an increasingly recognizable and attractive destination for international academic exchange.
These students are studying at our Faculty within the framework of international academic mobility, including the Erasmus+ Programme and, above all, exchange schemes based on bilateral agreements with partner universities.
In the current academic year, they are taking part in two English-language programmes offered by the Faculty: the Comparative, International and Advanced Legal Studies Programme (CIE-LSP) and the School of International and Advanced Problems of Private Law (SIAPPL_Priv).
Our international students currently come from Belarus, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Italy.
The figures for this year’s academic exchange are as follows:
-
52 international students studied at the Faculty during the winter semester
-
73 international students are attending classes in the summer semester
-
6 students are spending the entire academic year at our Faculty
The largest groups have come from Uzbekistan, Spain and Tajikistan, underlining both the geographical reach of the Faculty’s international partnerships and its growing presence beyond Europe.
Last week, in keeping with the standards of international academic exchange, orientation meetings were held for students participating in both programmes. The Faculty also organized special photo sessions and an evening tour of the building.
The evening format of this event was planned with Ramadan in mind, so that our Muslim students could participate fully after sunset.
This record number of international students is not only a source of great satisfaction, but also another important step in strengthening the international profile of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk.
